Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a robust and integrated continuing education and training system.

Designed to build industry competencies, it is founded on best international practices and validated by industries and employers. It differs from the pre-employment training system delivered by national schools and post-secondary education institutions.

As the WSQ caters to adult workers who have widely diverse training needs, it offers a correspondingly wide range of certifications and qualifications from certificate to graduate diploma.

The WSQ is designed to facilitate adult learning, make skills upgrading more accessible to our workforce and provide career progression pathways for them.

It aims to equip our workforce with the necessary employability, industry and occupational skills to remain competitive and add value to the organisation.

SPUR or Skills Programme for Upgrading and Resilience, is an enhanced financial support scheme developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in consultation with tripartite partners, Ministry of Manpower and National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF).

   The objectives of SPUR are to:

  1. Cut Costs and Save Jobs. SPUR helps companies to manage excess manpower and reduce retrenchment;

  2. Reskill and Upskill. SPUR helps local workers including those retrenched, upgrade skills and convert to new jobs; and

  3. Build Capabilities for Recovery.  SPUR strengthens our manpower capabilities to better position our workforce for the upturn
